Founded by Glasgow Kevin College, National Opportunity Day was created to help those who may feel discouraged or confused about their future and showcase the opportunities available for them. Whether you’ve recently left education or just looking for a career change, we have several opportunities that could be perfect for you!
With GCSE and A Level results approaching.
To be a carer, we require our staff to be aged 18 or over. If you’ve recently finished your A Levels and are 18 or over we welcome your application. However, if you’ve recently finished your GCSE’s we highly recommend getting a head start on your career by studying courses such as Health and Social Care at college before starting your care career.
Not all of our carers had experience before starting with us.
At CRT we provide training to all our new starters, whether they have experience or not. Following this, you will also complete a series of eLearning courses to give you more knowledge about the role. You’ll also shadow experienced staff members out in the field before you officially start your role. All of this will be paid.
Whilst working for us we have refresher training each year to give you the opportunity to keep up to date with your skills and knowledge. We want to ensure that our staff are working to the highest standards and service users are receiving outstanding care.
What makes a good carer?
We offer care assistant in domiciliary care as well as roles working at our extra cares. We aim to have staff that are self-motivated and well organised with their work. With the nature of the role, it’s important our staff have caring natures, can communicate effectively and use their initiative.
Why become a carer?
A role within care gives you the chance to make a real difference in people’s lives. With our roles either being home care or in independent living facilities you can help care for those who need it while encouraging their independence. This is a role that can vary day to day and is create for those who like more variety. If you want a rewarding career that can provide a great sense of satisfaction then a role in care may be perfect for you!
